POPIA: Your Information Rights

1. What POPIA means for this platform

School enrolments, account details and identifiable learning results are personal information. POPIA requires lawful, purpose-limited handling, appropriate safeguards and respect for information rights. Publishing this page alone does not make the platform compliant.

2. Children’s information

POPIA places additional restrictions on processing children’s personal information. Prior consent from a legally competent person is one section 35 exception; other exceptions exist and must actually apply. A teacher account, a school spreadsheet or a child clicking Sign in is not, by itself, proof of the required authorisation.

Before enrolment or further processing, the school and Academy must establish the applicable basis, provide the appropriate notice and record any required competent-person consent or other authorisation. The platform does not currently collect or verify these consent records. Do not infer that existing accounts have been legally audited.

3. Request access or correction

Use the direct privacy contact below with the subject “POPIA request”. Describe whether you want to confirm information held, obtain access, correct an error, request deletion or object to processing. Include only the minimum details needed to identify your relationship with the school.

The request may need to be routed to the school or other responsible party and verified before records can be released. A response should explain any lawful reason for a limitation or retention. A child’s parent or other legally authorised representative may request assistance.

4. Account closure is not automatic deletion

Signing out or deactivating an account does not delete cloud learning records. Ask specifically about deletion or retention if you leave a school. The Academy must also consider legitimate recordkeeping requirements and any copies held by the school.

5. Report a concern or complain

Report a suspected privacy incident to the Academy promptly and avoid circulating the affected records. For example, describe unexpected access without copying another learner’s details.

6. Organisational responsibilities still to confirm

The platform operator is AI ROBOTICS CODING ACADEMY AFRICA (PTY) LTD, registration number 2025/938279/07. The Academy must confirm its Information Officer appointment and registration arrangements, school/operator agreements, children’s processing authorisations, retention schedule, cross-border safeguards and incident handling. These pages do not assert that those organisational requirements have already been completed.

The Privacy Policy describes the implemented data flows; this POPIA page supplements it. A qualified South African legal/privacy adviser should review the final notices and the actual operating practices together.
